Remember how I'm on this kick

where I make things from "scratch"

(anything not cereal is my definition of scratch).

Well my chum Dani shared this glorious recipe with me

about a week or so ago & I'm not ashamed to admit

that I've made it 4 times since then

(for different people, I didn't just eat billions of cookies

last week guys! Judgmental, much??!)

They're named….Cake Cookies!

Or…Cacookies.

Or Cake Cookies.

Mix 1 packet of any cake flavor of your choosing

2 eggs and 1/3 cup of veg oil.

This is not the right stirring utensil to use.

I'm not Martha Stewart alright!

And I added chocolate chips because I can.

Also, don't mind the disgusting cookie dough in my fingernail…

seriously I'm like Lewis and Clark discovering the kitchen for the first time! Go easy!

350 deg for 10 min.

They won't look like they're done

but they are. Put your trust in me.

So if your a baking bambi like myself I hope this helped.

If not…well go stuff your face with cookies anyways.

I got this recipe from one of my co-workers,

and its srsly the easiest recipe on the planet.

We can do this by pictures:

There are literally no other ingredients!

Just the cake powder & can of pumpkin!

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25min.

Its in Scottsdale mall right outside of Modern Steak

which is an uhhshmazing resteraunt

with more selections and much higher prices,

great for special occasions.

Anybody who's seen this place

knows the decor is absolutely beautiful.

It has an ultra glam feeling

while still feeling modern (ha) & quirky.

The limited menu (seen in the top photo)

at Modern Burger is absolutely delish.

They really nailed the slider.

I get it with their tasty fries and perfect housemade lemonade!

& they also rock in the ice cream sandwich category!

my lifelong friend Ally came to town

and Mr. Fox took us out to a fun bakery/cafe called

Tammie Coe Cakes

and I couldn't believe I'd never been there before!

It was SOOOO declicious.

Their place was lovely and cozy:

We left with a pack of sour cream sugar cookies (amazing)

two loaves (mmmmm)

and full bellies!

As we were leaving we also stopped by The Lab next door

and got Mr. Fox an upcycled vintage shirt!

The other night my sis and I were watching Jimmy Kimmel,

which we've never done before

and we came in on a interview with two little boys

who were adorable and funny

but we had no idea why they were on the program.

THEN

the very next day my friend Chelsea asked if I had seen

the Jimmy Kimmel Halloween candy videos

and as fate would have it, that's where the two boys gained their claim to fame.

Have you seen these??

Chelsea says everyone has but I never saw them on FB or blogs.

have I been enjoying this album.

Buy here!
I recommend this album for family's with children
as a few of the songs have a dreamy, lullaby quality to them
and they'd be perfect for sugar plum inducing dreams.
My favorite track is #4!!

This album is fantastic!

Fantastic I tells ya!

He did WONDERFUL things for Blue Christmas

which I've always dislike bc of the honky tonkness,

but he gave it a sweet New Orleans jazz vibe

that plays straight to my heart.

I'm not so much a fan of his take on Santa Baby

which is just as uncomfortable as you think

since he says "Santa buddy and Santa pally" repeatedly. Urg.

BUT I really love his Frosty the Snowman (I know, what the what?)

(make sure you buy the album w/bonus tracks or you won't get this song!)

and his single Cold December Night is poifect!

Huzzah for new Christmas music!

A physical therapist came into my office

and I complimented her beautiful bag,

So, I know I've been MIA for the past few days

but I've been up to a lot of grood stuff!

One of those things was a campus tour of NAU

with my seeeeeester, madre and aunt!

This weekend I went with the girls to get

our annual pink extensions at Tantrum!

The proceeds go to breast cancer research,

and as my own lovely grandma is a breast cancer survivor

the subject is very near and dear to our hearts.

I highly encourage

in Breast Cancer Awareness month.

When I have days like yesterday

I pretend I'm in places like this

and that mean people don't exist

in these appealing places.

But alas,

mean people are everywhere.

It makes me strengthen my resolve to

fight down the natural Mandy

who wants to call people out

on their shenanigans bc I feel they deserve it,

and quiet my impatience and frustration when

I feel wronged.

It would make me feel really good

if you guys would join me

in declaring that you will choose your behaviour

to be respectful and kind to your fellow humans

whether you are in the right or the wrong.

This isn't to say that we can't stand up for what we believe in

or that we shouldn't defend ourselves/family/freedom

but just that we will do so as mature, responsible adults

no matter how the opposition chooses to conduct themselves.

I don't think that's too crazy.

And if we set the example,

maybe it will influence those around us to do the same!

And then slowly, bit by bit

meanness will be eradicated!

or at least it'll just make me feel better.

A while ago I posted that

was doing free

She is now setting up her

very own Etsy shoppe

but I was able to cash in on her

amazingness in the free era

and I recieved something worth more

than a sack of galleons:

I meant to post this ages ago

but I had big plans to order it as a print

and frame it and do a whole speeeecial post

but guess what.

The print took a long time to get here

and then I was out of town

and then I bought the wrong sized frame

and basically life laughed at my pretty posting plans.

So I said No more!

So I am completely ready for the holidays.

I have already started listening to a Christmas song here and there

and I've watched Home Alone 2. Twice.

Judge me if you must but I'm totes down with celebrating Christ's birth

since I'm jazzercised for Hallow's Eve.

I'm a fan of Nightmare before Christmas, Hocus Pocus,

Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown,

and I sorta feel like the 1st couple of HP movies are Halloweeny.

I'm a gino scardey cat, so I stay away from the creepy flicks,

unless you count Troll 2 or Manos Hands of Fate.
