HarryPotterPartyHardy

This weekend, we went with our friends, De Beus'
to a Harry Potter Party O'Awesomeness
at this lady's house!

Mr. Fox wore his special unicorn shirt from S. Africa.

First we were sorted.

Smart + Evil.
That fedora knows, man.
{ps I kinda look like Quirrell here with a face on the back of my head!}

Then there were magical snacks!!

Cockroach Cluster!

Pumpkin Pasties!

Butterbeer!
Tis' strong for a house elf, sir.

I enjoy Acid Pops!

And Licorice Wands!

But the best part of the night
was the HP trivia game.
I made it into the final contestants:

{the trivia game reminded me of muh fave FRIENDS episode!
"Animals dressed as humans!" "That's MS. Chanandler Bong!"}

Look at that posture. So ladylike.

In the end I came in 3rd
and got a lovely Galleon!
I forgot to take a picture of it
but its legit guys.
Leeegit.

Here are a couple of Potter facts
from our game that you might not know:

1. The Mirror of Erised has this inscribed upon it:
"Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi"
& if you read it backwards and rearrange the spacing
you will learn the true meaning.

2. The Hogwarts motto in Latin says:
Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus.
Which translated into English means:
A sleeping dragon is never to be tickled.

Cheers!

Holy awesome HP partay!! How fun. Don't de-friend me...but....I have not seen all the movies nor read the books. I do like HP though, I just don't have the attention span to watch all the movies at once. The reason I don't keep watching them is because I don't like when I don't knwo what is going on. I guess I should have a HP marathon.

From fact #2, we can infer that the Malfoy's boy means "dragon," too.

See, I'm good at this Harry Potter stuff!

P.S. Zac Beus is such a class act. I miss that guy. Next time you see him, remind him of the time he and I wore togas for a presentation in Ms. Deakin's English class.

You're awesome! Please email them to me? pagetraveler@gmail.com, I'll be sure to link back to you here, and I'll be your bloggy buddy :-) Thanks!

How fun! Perfect way to gear up for the movie this week. Speaking of which, I need to finally start making my costume! Because really, miss an opportunity to dress up? No. Way. ;)

that looks like the best party ever! I found a recipe for Butter Beer and can't wait to try it out. Was it good? I feel you on the posture. I blame it on my spine working against me.

If only I had read the harry potter boooks and not skipped out on the reading fad I would be as enraptured as everyone else and totally laughing at the inside jokes. looks like a totally rad party, and your captions are wonderful "And licorice wands" "there were magical snacks!"

there are some great ideas at that party! i would have loved to gone to something like that. Unfortunately I don't know too many people who are as excited about things like harry potter as I am, sigh...
